​ The painting above is an oil painting on canvas by Brent Thomas and is based on a vintage black and white aerial photograph of the Corder Family Farm near Putnam, Oklahoma.   The late Kenneth Corder conveyed to Brent the colors of the buildings and vehicles, along with the characteristics of the fields and trees.  Some soil from the farm, in a small vial provided by a Corder family member, was added to the reddish paint in the foreground.
